Fundraising for Honor Homes at Patty's Place, by The Connection Shelter is officially underway! This tiny home development is designed to serve veterans experiencing homelessness through affordable permanent housing. This project will include seven living units and a community building with shared laundry and a gathering space.

Dirt is moving and foundations will be poured in the next couple of weeks.
 
By focusing on private funding, the project aims to reduce many of the barriers veterans often face when trying to access supportive housing services.
 
Since 2020, The Connection Homeless Shelter has served more than 100 veterans experiencing homelessness.
 
While veterans make up approximately 7% of Nebraska's general population, they account for nearly 13% of the states homeless population. Significant gaps still exist in the current system serving veterans in need of stable housing and support.
 
The development will be located directly south of The Connection Homeless Shelter on East 5th Street, on property owned by The connection.
