About Us
We started our nonprofit organization in 2016 to fill a need in North Platte and Lincoln County with alternative outdoor activities for our youth, their families, and our veterans. We will build a community pump track (open to the public much like a community skate park) and a USA BMX sanctioned bicycle race track to offer sanctioned races and programs to people of every age from 3-103 from our area and abroad!
Our goal is to be a hub for action sports in Central and Western Nebraska by hosting events at both facilities and promoting tourism to BMX racers from all over the world. We will also work with schools in the area by promoting the USA BMX Foundation S.T.E.A.M. program as an after school extra curricular activity. BMX is not an age or gender restricted sport. We will adopt the motto ''No one rides the bench in BMX!'' BMX has been around since the late 60's and made more popular when the International Olympic Committee allowed the sport to be added as an official medal sport in 2008. Since then, in 2020, other action sports such as skateboarding, surfing, and rock climbing have been added because of the success of BMX!
308 BMX will be the 4th BMX track in Nebraska and the furthest West. Because of the location of North Platte and Lincoln County we will be able to capitalize on the tourism aspect as both I-80 and US HWY 83 intersect here. 308 BMX is a Nebraska and Federal 501c3, locally run, and currently 100% volunteer operated.
